The world has lost a unique figure. Jocelyn Wildenstein, famed for her striking appearance and monumental divorce settlement, has passed away.

The 84-year-old, often referred to as “Catwoman” due to her many surgeries aimed at achieving a feline aesthetic, succumbed to a pulmonary embolism in a lavish Parisian estate, as reported by local media.

Her partner, Lloyd Klein, shared the news, expressing deep sorrow over her loss.

Just two weeks ago, Wildenstein was seen in good spirits in Paris with Klein, highlighting the suddenness of this tragedy.

Besides her notorious looks, she was also known for her staggering divorce settlement of $2.5 billion, a testament to her tumultuous relationship with the late Alec Wildenstein.

Born on August 5, 1940, in Lausanne, Switzerland, Jocelyn’s early life was relatively modest. The daughter of an aspiring department-store buyer, her journey took a turn at 17 when she fell for Swiss film producer Cyril Piguet.

Her romantic escapades led her to date acclaimed filmmaker Sergio Gobbi, during which time she developed a profound appreciation for Africa—a continent that thoroughly captivated her.

As a socialite, Wildenstein navigated elite circles globally, with a chance meeting with arms dealer Adnan Khashoggi ultimately leading her to her future husband, Alec Wildenstein, during a safari in Kenya in 1977.

After tying the knot with Alec in 1978, their marriage would eventually lead to one of history’s most notable divorce settlements in the late 1990s.

Her extensive facial surgeries, aimed at achieving her cat-like appearance, were often speculated to be a reflection of her desire to please her horse-racing husband.

A woman of many talents, Wildenstein was not only an art enthusiast and hunter but also a licensed pilot, showcasing her multifaceted passions.
