On November 23rd, the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation (BEDC) rolled out the red carpet for its 8th Annual Business Awards, an exhilarating celebration of local entrepreneurs during the globally recognized Global Entrepreneurship Week.
This prestigious event took place from 7 PM to 11 PM at the stunning Lido Complex, drawing together a vibrant community of Bermuda’s innovators and business leaders to honor the remarkable achievements of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises. The awards ceremony shone a spotlight on trailblazers within the island’s economic empowerment zones, showcasing the spirit of entrepreneurship that drives Bermuda’s growth.
With a sleek black-and-gold theme enriching the atmosphere, the evening was packed with valuable networking opportunities, a gourmet dinner, and award presentations, culminating in an electrifying after-party at The Deep Bar & Nightclub. It was truly a night to remember, filled with recognition and celebration of Bermuda’s most outstanding business talents.

- Start-up of the Year: Lookie Lookie – Situated in Washington Mall, this gem curates Bermuda’s finest artisanal products, spotlighting local treasures.
- Entrepreneur of the Year: CariGenetics – Founded by Carika Weldon, this pioneering company is transforming genetic research for Caribbean ancestry, promoting inclusivity and innovation.

- Most Enterprising Young Entrepreneur: Flow by Nico – Talented teen artist Nico Bean has showcased his work in multiple exhibitions and sells art both locally and internationally.
- People’s Choice Award 2024: Sade Milan Skin – This brand promotes self-care and feminine wellness with all-natural skincare products.
- Economic Empowerment Zone Business of the Year: Long Story Short – A gift shop and tour center dedicated to social progress and sustainability.
- Customer Service Award 2024: Pronto – A grocery store and delivery service known for affordability and fast service.
