Fake L.A. Surgeon Charged with Injuring Patient: Shocking Details Inside!
Meet Cristian Perez Latorre: the man who dazzled thousands on Instagram with a seemingly glamorous life in the world of cosmetic surgery. Posing alongside actors and mingling with top international models, he had everyone fooled. His social media was a treasure trove of beauty tips—everything from botox advice to the mystical benefits of sound baths. But behind the filters and flashy posts lies a shocking truth.
At the heart of it, this 53-year-old self-proclaimed “facial specialist,” who also dabbled in “aura healing,” was not just bending the rules—he was breaking them. L.A. County prosecutors allege that Latorre was performing cosmetic procedures without a license, causing “great bodily injury” to at least one unsuspecting client in 2021.
His high-flying facade came crashing down when he was arrested and charged with assault and battery for impersonating a doctor. In a shocking twist, he was released just a day later on a hefty $150,000 bond.
The Los Angeles County district attorney’s office stated that Cristian Perez Latorre was charged with assault and battery for impersonating a doctor and conducting unauthorized cosmetic surgery back in July 2021.

Despite branding himself as a “board-certified plastic surgeon” from Argentina and a “registered nurse first assistant” in the U.S., law enforcement quickly discovered that his credentials didn’t hold water. In July 2021 alone, he treated one woman three times following an unlicensed surgical procedure—first performing the surgery, then treating her for infections, and finally again for further complications.
The specifics of those complications remain under wraps, as do the reasons for the lengthy delay in filing charges—three years after the incidents occurred.
Latorre now faces serious charges: one count of “assault with a deadly weapon,” one count of “battery with serious injury,” and six counts of “practicing medicine without a certification.” If the court decides to throw the book at him, he could be looking at up to a decade behind bars.
“This behavior jeopardizes not only individual lives but also the trust that patients place in legitimate medical professionals,” declared District Attorney George Gascón. “Such deceit undermines our healthcare system and the confidence the community has in those dedicated to keeping us healthy.”
Kathleen Nicholls from the state’s Department of Consumer Affairs echoed these sentiments, emphasizing that “there’s absolutely no justification for practicing medicine without a license. Anyone who jeopardizes others’ health will face the consequences of their reckless actions.”
While it’s unclear exactly how long Latorre had been operating without a license in California, his Instagram account boasts over 20,000 followers, showcasing snapshots with numerous celebrities, including actor Mickey Rourke.
This scandal is just one of many in a rapidly expanding cosmetic surgery market—an industry that’s quite loosely regulated compared to other medical fields. According to recent reports, the North American cosmetic surgery market was valued at a jaw-dropping $18 billion last year, showing no signs of slowing down.
In addition to his dubious surgical practices, Latorre also promoted an “aura healing” online store, offering everything from palo santo and sage candles to crystals and detox juice plans starting at $110.
