Megan Barton-Hanson: From Bullied to Stripping Queen After Plastic Surgery!
Megan Barton-Hanson has candidly opened up about her transformative journey—from being bullied as a teenager to stepping into the spotlight as the “Alan Sugar of strip clubs.” She credits her decision to go under the knife as a pivotal moment in her life.
At just 19, this rising star underwent her first cosmetic surgeries, choosing a nose job and breast augmentation to reshape her identity and combat the cruelty she faced during her school years.
Megan, who burst into the limelight on the 2018 season of Love Island, shared with dating guru Paul Carrick Brunson on his podcast, “We Need To Talk,” about the relentless bullying she faced for her appearance, particularly her nose and protruding ears, which fueled her desire for change.
Reflecting on her past, Megan shared, “I was barely making enough to afford my train fare into London from Essex, and I knew I had to make a change.” The conversation took a deeper turn when Paul probed her about her motivations for her surgeries.
Megan didn’t hold back, saying, “Honestly, it was about the money.” She continued, “I was confident with my natural body, but I saw this girl on social media making waves with her own body, and I thought to myself, ‘Why not me?’ If I had bigger breasts, I could definitely do that!”
Megan Barton-Hanson has said braving going under the knife helped her from being bullied as a teen for her looks, to the ‘Alan Sugar of strip clubs’
The former Love Island star, 30, first went under the knife at the age of 19 for a double surgery, a nose job and a breast augmentation
She recounted, “I had no real issues with my body, but I felt the pressure. I wanted to be a glamour model, to be my own boss and live life on my own terms.” This ambition led her to invest in her looks and take control of her narrative.
Megan’s journey didn’t stop there. After she began showcasing her enhanced looks on Instagram, she quickly amassed a whopping 1.4 million followers. “It was all about posting sexy pictures,” she said. “The likes and attention just skyrocketed!”
As her social media success grew, so did her financial needs, prompting her to explore the world of strip clubs. “I was earning peanuts at the law firm, and the money I made on Instagram wasn’t cutting it,” she explained. “I walked past a strip club one day, and the girls looked so happy—glamorous and in control of their destiny.”
Unfazed by the stigma, Megan approached the strip club, saying, “I just walked in and asked for a job. I had never been in a strip club before, but I knew it was the place where I could thrive.” She embraced the change, stating, “If you’re going to sexualize me in a pencil skirt on minimum wage, I might as well do it where I can make real money!”
Megan reflected on her time working in the club with fondness, saying, “It was incredibly freeing. I built a sisterhood with the other women there, something I had never experienced before.” This newfound camaraderie was a welcome change from her past experiences of bullying.
Megan added: ‘I’d never stepped foot in a strip club, I just knew they looked happy and like they had loads of money, and that was what I wanted’
‘I was being sexualised by solicitors. The way they would look at me, so in my mind, if you’re gonna sexualise me when I’m dressed in a pencil skirt on minimum wage, I’m gonna go and be sexualised where I can make so much money’
Megan’s journey through the ups and downs of love has also been a rollercoaster. She gained fame as a fan favorite in Love Island, finishing in fourth place alongside Wes Nelson. Unfortunately, their romance fizzled out, with Megan citing a difference in priorities.
Today, Megan embraces single life while exploring new connections. She believes in the importance of emotional connection over gender, stating, “I try not to focus on gender; it’s about the connection and how someone enhances my life.” Recent dating rumors have sparked interest, especially after she was spotted sharing a kiss with Instagram model Leah Ray.
Megan is not just making waves in her love life—she’s also using her platform to advocate for sex positivity. She recalls her own experiences with slut-shaming, which have fueled her passion for speaking openly about female empowerment and pleasure.
“I was badly slut-shamed in school and carried that shame for years,” she admitted. “But now, I’m here to embrace my sexuality and promote the message that women should feel empowered and proud of their choices.” Megan’s journey is a testament to resilience, change, and the power of owning one’s narrative.
