Mark your calendars—the 2025 Golden Globes are rolling out this Sunday! And guess who’s stepping into the spotlight as the host? The hilarious and charismatic Nikki Glaser! But, she’s facing some pre-show jitters, particularly about her health.

“Honestly, the worst-case scenario is fainting or having some sort of stroke,” she joked in a candid moment with The New York Times. “But I’ve got my material down… I’m feeling pretty confident!”

To perfect her monologue, Nikki put in some serious work—two writers’ rooms and an astonishing 91 test runs! Talk about dedication.

However, it’s been revealed that Nikki made a significant sacrifice to make this hosting gig happen. She decided to delay surgery—so what’s the scoop on her health? Here’s everything she’s shared so far.

She Postponed Plastic Surgery for the Gig.

At 40, Nikki isn’t nursing an injury, but she is postponing a cosmetic procedure to keep her focus on hosting the Golden Globes. “I was planning on getting a brow lift or some other surgery that I’ve been considering,” she shared on CBS Sunday Morning.

When her agents asked her to push back the operation until later that month, she humorously recounted, “They were like, ‘Is there any chance you could move it to the second week of January?’”

She’s Had Vocal Cord Surgery Before.

This isn’t Nikki’s first surgical rodeo. Back in 2022, she had to postpone multiple tour dates to address an issue with her vocal cords.

“My voice is fried, and I’m getting it repaired,” she announced on Instagram at that time. “I’m super excited! It won’t be painful, but I’ll need to stay silent for 3-5 weeks.”

Nikki light-heartedly added, “I can’t wait to not talk. The world deserves a break from my voice, honestly.”

She’s Battled Eating Disorders in the Past.

Nikki has bravely opened up about her struggles with eating disorders in a heartfelt essay she penned for The Cut. She revealed that her struggle with anorexia began in high school, where she often went days without food.

“Receiving compliments about my weight loss felt like getting an A on a test I hadn’t studied for. It was thrilling,” she recalled. “I quickly became addicted to that validation.”

Nikki was hospitalized due to her anorexia before college, but later faced other challenges with bingeing and bulimia in her twenties, leading to serious physical repercussions. “I became obsessed with counting calories and working out constantly,” she shared.

Eventually, she joined a 12-step program and adopted a healthier lifestyle, committing to eating three balanced meals a day.

“I used to feel a rush from hunger, but I’ve worked hard to overcome that,” she reflected. “There are days when the struggle is real, especially with body image, but I’ve learned that when you stop fighting it, your body will find its own balance.”
