Mark your calendars, folks! The 2025 Golden Globes are just around the corner, happening this Sunday! The incredibly talented comedian Nikki Glaser is gearing up to take the stage as host for the very first time. And while she’s excited, she’s also a bit anxious—especially when it comes to her health.

“Honestly, the absolute worst-case scenario is fainting or having a stroke,” she joked during a recent interview. “But I’ve got the material down… I just feel ready!”

Nikki’s not just winging it. She’s put in the hard work, utilizing two separate writer’s rooms and conducting a whopping 91 test runs to nail her monologue!

And here’s the kicker: Nikki revealed she postponed a scheduled surgery just to make this hosting gig happen. So what’s the scoop on her health? Let’s dive in!

She postponed surgery to host the Golden Globes.

At 40, Nikki isn’t dealing with any injuries, but she *is* putting off a possible brow lift or an invasive surgery she’d been considering for January 2025. “I got a call from my agents asking if I could delay the procedure to the second week of January,” she explained with a laugh.

She previously had surgery on her vocal cords.

This isn’t Nikki’s first rodeo with surgery. Back in 2022, she had to postpone several tour dates to have a procedure on her vocal cords. “My voice was fried and needed repair,” she shared excitedly on social media. “It’s not going to hurt, but I won’t be able to talk for 3-5 weeks. Total silence!”

Before the surgery, she humorously quipped that everyone could use a break from her voice: “I cannot wait to not talk. The world deserves a break from me, honestly!”

She’s conquered eating disorders in the past.

In 2022, Nikki bravely penned an essay detailing her long battle with multiple eating disorders. She opened up about developing anorexia in high school, confessing that she’d often go days without food.

“Getting compliments about my weight loss felt like getting an A on a test I didn’t study for. It was an addictive high,” she shared candidly. Unfortunately, she ended up hospitalized before heading to college.

In her twenties, she faced bingeing and bulimia, saying she would starve all day and then indulge at night, leading to stress fractures and other health issues. “It was a vicious cycle,” she reflected.

Eventually, Nikki found hope in a 12-step program and made positive changes, now focusing on nourishing her body with three meals a day. “There are days I struggle with my body image, but I remind myself: when you stop fighting it, your body will find its balance,” she emphasized.
