Surgeon’s Shocking ‘Bonus’ During Brooke Shields’s Labia Surgery!
Brooke Shields didn’t hold back when discussing a troubling incident with her plastic surgeon during a recent labia surgery, calling out the unexpected “little bonus” that was added to her procedure without her consent.
In her eye-opening memoir, “Brooke Shields Is Not Allowed to Get Old: Thoughts on Aging as a Woman,” she recounts how her “wonderful” gynecologist suggested a labia reduction to alleviate discomfort she’d endured since high school.
Shields had long dealt with the challenges of discomfort, bleeding, and chafing, and finally decided to take action. But what followed was far from what she anticipated.
“Of course, it’s not covered by insurance because it’s considered cosmetic, which is just wild,” the 59-year-old actress noted. “Last I checked, I didn’t sign up to be a porn star.”
When Shields returned for her follow-up, her Beverly Hills surgeon casually dropped the bombshell: he had included a vaginal rejuvenation procedure, which essentially aims to tighten the vagina for sexual purposes, without her approval.
Shields was left “dumbfounded” by what she called the “irreversible invasion,” likening it to a “rape of some kind.” She expressed disbelief, writing, “Nothing indicated that there was a need for it to be tighter, smaller, or firmer.”
The acclaimed actress, who has been open about her past traumas, found herself grappling with feelings of shame and confusion. For quite some time, she kept the incident from her husband, Chris Henchy, feeling overwhelmed by the experience.
Yet, Shields decided to share this deeply personal story with her readers, even if some might find it “too graphic or simply TMI.” She boldly stated, “If we want to change the narrative around women’s health, we must confront the uncomfortable truths. Shame has no place in this conversation.”
In her recent documentary, she revealed yet another layer of hardship, disclosing an experience of sexual assault in her 20s by a Hollywood executive, demonstrating her courage in tackling difficult subjects head-on.
In a recent interview, Shields opened up about how her daughters—Rowan, 21, and Grier, 18—reacted to the revelations in her documentary, with Rowan already aware of the assault and Grier feeling “helpless” upon learning of her mother’s traumatic past.
Mark your calendars! “Brooke Shields Is Not Allowed to Get Old: Thoughts on Aging as a Woman” hits bookshelves this coming Tuesday. Don’t miss out on this powerful narrative that’s set to challenge and inspire.
