The course, titled CIS 102 – Job Search Principles and Tools, will kick off in March 2025, reinforcing the college’s commitment to preparing students for the future of work.
This dynamic 1-credit hour course is brought to life thanks to funding from the Illinois Community College Board Trades school grant. It features a unique blend of engaging lectures and hands-on labs. During the lectures, students will build a robust foundation in essential job search techniques, learning crucial skills like interview prep, salary negotiations, resume crafting, and cover letter personalization. The lab segment will immerse students in WriteSea’s cutting-edge Job Search Genius platform, equipping them with the tools needed for creating standout resumes, sharpening their interview skills, and mastering negotiation tactics.
Hands-On Learning and Real-World Skills
Students will dive right into practical applications, honing their job search abilities in real-time. By the course’s conclusion, participants will emerge ready to tackle the competitive job market with newfound confidence. The curriculum emphasizes practical, accessible strategies tailored to today’s rapidly evolving employment landscape.
